This was a whole house renovation with the objective of creating one large open area for the public spaces. Two bearing walls were removed making way for a family room kitchen dining room expansion. The new space was to accommodate a minimalist style of design by the owner. This new Great room was organized around the new kitchen island which serves as the command center for the home owner’s observation of family activities in both the dining and media areas. The renovation also included combining two bedrooms into one Master bedroom suite with an added bathroom. The project consisted of 2000 square feet. The project contractor was Moss Building and Design and was substantially completed in 2015.
