This Project’s original architect and occupant was designed by William F. Vosbeck FAIA. The split level home sits on the crest of a hill, 75' above the Potomac River, with a glass wall at the rear of the house.

The Project's main objective is to renovate a grade level recreation room into a Master Bedroom Suite, and to convert a carport into a Garage.

The opportunity was to take advantage of the Potomac River view. The Challenge was to disturb as little soil as possible due to the presence of marine clay. The result was a dramatic cantilevered deck and roof deck with a curvature offsetting the River's edge imitating the flight path into national airport and the GW Parkway.
